Повторяющееся производство тех же дискретных продуктов или семей продуктов. Методика поточного дискретного производства минимизирует переналадки, запасы и длительность производственного цикла. Путем использования производственных линий, сборочных линий и предметно-замкнутых участков (cells). Производственные заказы более не являются необходимыми; календарное планирование и контроль основаны на темпах производства (production rates). Продукты могут быть стандартными или собираемыми из модулей. Дискретный поток не есть функция от скорости или объема. Синоним: repetitive process, repetitive production (примечание автора перевода: перевод тот же).
